Teaser Tuesdays -- Rich Boy

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly book meme, hosted at Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page along with the title & author so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
  • Ready for a tease? Here it is:
"The air conditioner trilled loudly in the shop on Sixth Avenue just off Twelfth Street, as the elderly man with a twirled mustache, in a shirt and bow tie, cut Robert's facial hair with scissors getting it short enough to shave....Robert enjoyed being shaved and washed and taken care of more than he'd expected---for the last three years, he had wanted just the opposite, but now he remembered how people lived, could live."
---Rich Boy by Sharon Pomerantz

Most people like a day or two of being pampered!

Hello Pooch,

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for leaving comment, it is much appreciated and is very good to 'meet' you.

Getting to talk to such a diversity of people, from literally the 'four corners of the world', is what makes it all worth while, I have had some fantastic conversations over the months.

I wasn't too sure about your teaser lines at first and was not sure that if I had to make a decision whether to buy or not, just based on those lines, what I would do.

I decide to check out the book a little more and have now completely changed my mind. It sounds like an interesting, well put together saga and has received some amazing reviews in the US, although sadly is not on the radar at all in the UK.

I much prefer the cover of the paperback version, to that of the hardcover, I don't know about you?

Thanks for sharing,
