Dogs-n-Books on Thurday

Lailah: You know how it is, girls. I just can't sleep with him snoring like that! And, don't even ask about that bear!!

"...book I recently bought that had the actual TITLE misspelled on the spine of the book. A glaring typographical error that really (really!) should have been caught. So, using that as a springboard, today’s question: What’s the worst typographical error you’ve ever found in (or on) a book? "

A title doesn't immediately spring to mind although typos seem to leap off the page when I'm reading. It seems to me that books do not generally have a "stand alone" typo. If there is one, typically there are more to follow.

Our local newspaper has many-many-many typos always! One that is particularly annoying is the use of 's as a plural!! In a newspaper!! Is this a typo or ignorance? I donn'tt no.

A number of years ago, I actually subscribed to our local paper simply to giggle at all the typos. Boy, does that sound lame:)

Poor Lailah. Yes, I always find it ironic to see so many typos in the newspaper.

I sympathize. Grover snores, too. And, it's loud.

oh I agree, typos are notorious in newspapers, I read they are written for the 5th grade level??? Now as far as the worst one I have ever read I think of a sign I just read for a "Diner" that actually was spelled "dinner" and then there was the typo in a book I read a few years back where they actually had a page totally missing?? I mean it jumped to another page and I had to go to the library to try and find a copy that was not missing the page so I could find out what happeded??? I cannot remember now what the book was but I believe it was a LAwerence Sanders books. I am constantly catching typos, and one that bothers me is the usuage of "their" and "there" that one bugs me and "accept" and "except" pet peeve....Oh and I think your pooches are adorable... :)
