Horst and Me

Look at these. Will they ever be a blanket? Only if they multiply. They need my help! I am knitting these little bows/butterflies/shells with DK weight self-striping yarn and size 6s to join together into a blanket.
This project was inspired by the Horst Schulz "African Adventure" ghan at http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/horst-schulz-fans/topics
These bits are made in two pieces. Yes! I know! The "half shell" is knitted with the moss stitch extension, then slipped onto a stitch holder. The other half is made without the extension, then joined to the first with a 3-needle bind off. Once I got the rhythm, I've enjoyed making these small pieces.
When will it be completed? Are you kidding??! I haven't a clue!

Ooooh, they are so pretty! If they never make it to blankethood they'd make some very snappy doggy bow ties.

Wow, that is going to be a fabulous afghan! I looked at the Ravelry photos and the afghans are stunning.

I think you are the most ambitious afghan knitter I know. You choose big projects AND you get them done. (I would never finish a project like this!) Great job!

These are beautiful. I can't wait to see them put together in a blanket- it's going to be worth it.
