This is Marie Bostwick and since I wrote "On Wings of the Morning" and "A Single Thread", I think giving books is a great idea! :)

Actually, I give more books than anything else at Christmas (no, not just my books) and this year, it makes particular sense. Books are one of the few gifts you can buy for under $20 that can truly be personal. And there are so many books out there that, with a little thought, you can definitely find something to match the recipients interest. My hubby, who is a bit of a science geek, is getting "Best Science Writing of 2008". My youngest boy, a pianist who is in a Beatles phase, is getting the new John Lennon bio, my middle son, who is fascinated by sustainable agriculture, is getting a cartload of Wendell Berry, my eldest a bunch of mysteries, and my MIL, who loves a feel-good story, "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". And I HOPE there will be lots of books under the tree for me as well!Marie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12503108202966876551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19077980.post-11280204209524852702008-12-18T16:15:00.000-07:002008-12-18T16:15:00.000-07:00I have 7 grandchildren too! I think that your MIL is a fortunate lady to have a thoughtful DIL like you!SmilingSallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10479373067844173653noreply@blogger.com
